Cloisters Tutoring - Bristol, Bath, Somerset & Wiltshire
Established in 1992, Cloisters is a national company that offers an excellent personal service through a network of offices. Our 1:1 tutoring is carried out by specialist tutors & is tailored to the specific needs of the pupil. We know that 1:1 tutoring helps build confidence & encourages the pupil to ask questions that they would not normally do in a classroom in front of their peers.
For peace of mind. The protection of children is our main concern. Cloisters is a Home Office Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Umbrella Body. All our tutors are police checked (Protection of Children Act), hold DBS Enhanced Disclosure certificates and are GTC (General Teaching Council) checked. See our DBS registration page
Local Based. Unlike organizations that operate from a national centre (often online), our offices carefully discuss and listen to the pupil’s need at the onset of an enquiry. Most of our enquiries are from personal recommendations and many families have continued with us for other family members. Our offices personally know their tutors and understand the local education system enabling them to accurately select and introduce, without obligation, the most suitable tutor.
Tutor recruitment. We carry out extensive recruitment screening and applicants must be qualified to degree equivalence. Cloisters’ register of tutors consists of qualified local teachers, lecturers and professional persons. Our tutors are continuously monitored and work to our ‘Code of Professional Conduct’
Fees. Cloisters are very competitive. The fees quoted have no hidden extras. There is no contract, no charge for registering and searching for a tutor and no VAT.
No Contracts. There are no minimum number lessons required. We tutor on a lesson by lesson basis and lessons can be stopped at anytime (24hrs notice).
Processing enquiries. When an introduction has been made and accepted we confirm the arrangements in writing with both the pupil and the tutor.
Tailored Lessons. Our tutors tailor their lessons to the individual needs of the pupil and to their courses. In the early years we feel it is essential for lessons to follow the same scheme and methods of literacy and numeracy as used by the school.
Personal Service. Our offices are often available outside of normal working hours. You will always be able to speak to the same person. They return calls; deal with telephone messages and emails a.s.a.p.
Support. We provide continual support for both our pupils and tutors.
